Al Gore Gets VP Selection Input From Pro-Abortion Group

Washington -- A USA Today story from June 11th gives the pro-life community a clear indication who Al gore will look to for advice when selecting a running if he receives the Democrat nomination: extreme pro-abortion organizations.

Vice President Al Gore attended an event sponsored by EMILY's List, a pro-abortion political action committee that raises money for Democratic women who favor abortion on demand.

EMILY's List President Ellen Malcolm even named names. Gore "jokingly acknowledged the appeal by licking an index finger and marking the air: Malcolm had made a point he will remember."

Yet what Gore can't seem to remember are the unborn children -- for whom he cast numerous votes before switching from a pro-life to a pro-abortion stance to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

Introducing Gore as a "longtime supporter of equality and opportunity for women," Malcolm told the vice president, "We have a long list of candidates you can choose from. In fact, for this purpose, I think you should consider it Al's list."

Malcolm specifically mentioned Sens. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Barbara Mikulski, D-Md.; and Patty Murray, D-Wash.; Reps. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y.; Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; and Ellen Tauscher, D-Calif.; and Democratic Gov. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.

All of these women have horrible voting records on life issues on votes compiled by National Right to Life.

"I will always, always defend a woman's right to choose" an abortion, Gore said at the event.

Fortunately Gore will likely have to get by one of many pro-life Republican candidates seeking the GOP nod.
